Four-color screenprint poster. A bold design of a loaf of bread and a gathering and roses adds visual punch to the text in white, which includes the lyrics to the union song, "Bread and Roses." The introductory blurb celebrates the efforts of the over 20,000 workers who went on strike in Lawrence, Massachusetts in 1912, and highlights in particular the many women and children whose actions were critical to the movement's success. A rare example of Jernegan's work, whose only well-documented poster is that of Malcolm X and Ho Chi Minh. Light toning, small stain to lower right corner, some residual ink to verso, else near fine.
