Oblong 16mo. 29pp. Color illustrations by Swiss woodcutter Charles Emile Carlègle aid the narration of this vehicular comedy of errors. In Teutonic fashion, the tale comes to an abrupt and deadpan ending, when the anthropomorphic car protagonist flings itself off a bridge in emotional distress. Bound in quarter red cloth with pictorial boards. A scarce example of German-language children's publishing shortly after the unification of Germany. Internally bright and clean, general exterior toning, especially to rear board, which is also soiled and has mild wave in section of the paper. Very good.
