Octavo. (iv), 116, (1)ff. An immense compilation of typefaces, produced while Paris was under occupation. Includes at the final pages lettering for advertisements and a section on stylized rules and borders, as well as some letterforms in bright colors. Here the long-running École pays homage to its namesake, the 16th-century Estienne family of printers. Clearly the precarious circumstances of the book's production have proven their threat; only one other copy of the publication is known. Bound in marbled paper over boards backed in brown leather. Minimal rubs to corners, else fine.
