32mo. (24)ff. Twelve hand-colored lithographs decorate the twelve question cards included in this game, which quizzes children on the scope and purpose of such subjects as grammar, geography, architecture, and astronomy. Each question card is followed by a response card, which gives the appropriate answer. The game is as social as it is educational, inviting a reader and instructor, or two precocious readers of especial perspicacity, to exchange the images and responses. Housed in the original box, with a hand-colored lithograph on the outside of the lid and instructions for the cards' use on the inside. Sheets fairly but inconsequentially foxed, latter dozen toned, else near fine and extremely rare.
