12mo., (8)pp. Die-cut book in the shape of Red Riding Hood, in her cloak, carrying her basket, with the Wolf curled at her feet. The story, in which nobody is eaten and the moral is "mind your mother," is told in verse. In full-color chromolithographed cardboard wrappers, with three-color illustrations throughout. This title is widely considered the first shaped book for children, and Prang followed this up with others, including Robinson Crusoe, with the stories versified by Very. A fine copy overall.
