Near-miniature. 191pp. Engravings throughout depict the eminent American birds, including the eagle, the condor, the toucan, the woodpecker, and various pigeons. Clearly a riff on Audubon's publication, adapted for a juvenile and/or less financially flush audience. Bound in blue cloth, blind-embossed and with gilt ornament to spine, as well as traces of white evident at covers. Boards mildly askew, modest rubbing overall, else near fine and remarkably rare, with only one copy recorded in OCLC.
